Manhattan Lights – Original New York Cityscape Painting

$5,000.00

“Manhattan Lights”, acrylics on canvas, 24″ x 48″, Original Painting (one-of-a-kind), $5000.00

Manhattan Lights is an original acrylic painting by Debra Bretton Robinson inspired by the glow of the New York City skyline at night. Expressive brushwork and layered color capture the energy, light, and movement of Manhattan in a contemporary urban composition.

I think I always find the best views by looking out other peoples windows-or any windows. It’s the first thing I do when I go somewhere: look out the windows. Then if I find a good view, of course I have to paint it. This one was from a hotel in midtown. Layers upon layers of buildings, so thick you can’t even see the sky. Not my usual repertoire, but the lights and the architecture lured me in.

Manhattan Lights is an original acrylic painting by Debra Bretton Robinson inspired by the energy, glow, and movement of New York City at night. Vibrant lights and layered brushwork capture the atmosphere of the Manhattan skyline, where towering buildings and illuminated windows create a rhythmic, luminous cityscape.

The composition blends architectural suggestion with expressive abstraction, emphasizing color, light, and motion rather than precise detail. Warm and cool tones interact across the surface, evoking the constant pulse of the city and its unmistakable nighttime energy.

This contemporary urban artwork is ideal for collectors who love New York City paintings, skyline art, and modern abstract cityscapes. Manhattan Lights brings sophistication, movement, and metropolitan energy into any interior space.
